Trainee talent agent

This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of the country’s most exciting PR and talent agencies as part of a fast-paced, highly skilled and established team that has worked alongside some of the world's most recognised names, including senior politicians, celebrities and award-winning actors.

Please note: You must be aged between 18-24, reside in the UK and be receiving Universal Credit to be eligible to apply for this role.

Closing date: 23:59 on 24/10/2021

Your number one priority will be to assist the Director of Talent in identifying and securing paid work for our roster of both established and up-and-coming talented actors.

Key responsibilities and opportunities include:

  • Being trained on the world's leading casting platform to find jobs for our clients by reviewing production notices, job advertisements and working contacts to investigate new projects in development and attempt to set up auditions or meetings with the casting team, producer or director.

  • Overseeing the agency's social media accounts, ensuring an up-to-date stream of information and announcements. You will have the opportunity to develop your own tone of voice and contribute to shaping the agency's brand online.

  • Getting to know and understand each of our individual artists to further their careers, keeping track of their activities and becoming increasingly comfortable working in a competitive and often pressured environment.

  • Helping build and maintain a strong network of industry contacts and develop a personal in-depth, and up-to-date knowledge of the entertainment industry.

  • Oversee negotiating terms and contracts, mentoring and advising talent on personal and professional decisions that impact their career.

  • Other day-to-day duties will also include acting as the first point of contact, managing diaries and organising meetings and appointments, dealing, typing, compiling and preparing correspondence and managing databases.

You must:

  • Be ready to see our clients as your number one priority – as we do – so you must be the type of person who is ready to devote yourself to getting the best for them, no matter what.

  • Have a good level of digital skill – PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Google Docs / Drive etc. Anything higher – Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Final Cut etc. – is a bonus but not essential.

  • Have at least a basic understanding of the major social media platforms: Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube. Anything more – TikTok, Wix, blogs, websites etc. – is a bonus but not essential.

  • Be able to work well on your own as well as part of a team. Discretion and trustworthiness are key attributes we are looking for as you will often be party to confidential information.

  • Be flexible and happy to work unusual hours, including evenings and weekends, with adaptability (we operate a time off in lieu (TOIL) policy) with a team-player attitude to get the job done.

  • Be tactful, diplomatic, and have the ability to multitask and have good oral communication and organisational skills.

  • Someone who has the ability to be proactive and use their own initiative when presented with challenges.

  • Formal qualifications are not important to us. Above all, we are looking for someone passionate about the entertainment industry who is completely dedicated and ready to begin their career as a talent agent. We want someone keen to learn, eager to work hard, able to apply and prove themselves in a tough, competitive and demanding, but exciting and sought-after industry. You must be able to write creatively, passionately and persuasively, communicating with a flair that ensures you – but more importantly, our clients – stand out from the crowd.

The successful Trainee Talent Agent will receive:

  • National minimum wage + competitive commission.

  • 30 days annual leave, including bank holidays and birthdays. (Pro-rata)

  • Ability to work remotely.

  • Time off in lieu.

  • Hours of work are negotiable for the right candidate.

  • Apostrophe is an equal opportunities employer and encourages applicants from under-represented backgrounds and those without higher or further education.

  • We always reply to your application, even if you are unsuccessful, so if you have not heard from us within 10 days of the job closing date, please follow up with us.

  • Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, the successful applicant will work from home until further notice. We currently have no plans to resume office working.
